Camera Mod
Service
in partnership with Kolari Vision
A common request for the Mod Kit has been to provide a Mod Install service, whereby Pocket 4K and 6K owners can send in their camera, to have the Mod professionally installed.
I’m really excited to announce a new partnership between Pod Tech and Kolari Vision. Kolari Vision is a company based in New Jersey in the USA. If you have a look at their site, they’re offering a lot of interesting products, and even modification services for certain cameras. So Kolari Vision is now a certified installer and distributor for Pod Tech. Being in the USA, it becomes far more affordable for most Pocket 4K/6K owners to post their cameras in to be modified. Of course because Kolari Vision is already offering other camera mod services, they have the team and know-how to service these cameras within reasonable time constraints, and while adding some great warranty perks… so I was really, really excited when they contacted me.

Send-In Service
If you haven't already pre-ordered...
If you have not pledged through Kickstarter or pre-ordered a Mod Kit, but you have a Pocket 4K or 6K that you’d like modified, you’ll be able to book your Mod install service at KolariVision.com. The Mod Service is priced at $450 USD, and that price includes the Mod parts as well as the installation. Once booked, you’ll receive an email from Kolari Vision with instructions to post your Pocket 4K / 6K. You’ll need to cover the post cost to send your camera in to them, and once modified, they’ll cover the cost of the return post - even for international customers. If you’re outside of America, you will be responsible for import customs and duty fees, and these will vary depending on your country’s border rates.

For Backers
If you've already pre-ordered or backed...
If you have already pledged through the Kickstarter campaign for your Mod Kit, or pre-ordered a Mod Kit online, then you also have the option of having your camera modified by Kolari Vision. To book your service, go to www.kolarivisioin.com, find the Pod Mod Install Service and click book my service. At the checkout page, you’ll find a discount code box. If you have pre-ordered a Mod Kit, you’ll actually receive a code in an email, which you can enter into this section to deduct the price you already paid for the Mod Kit, leaving just Kolari Vision’s installation service price of $150 USD. If you book your service through Kolari Vision’s website before the 20th of February, your Mod Kit will actually be sent directly to Kolari Vision, and you’ll just need to post your camera to them as per their instruction. If you book your service after the 20th February, you’ll need to wait for your Mod Kit to arrive before sending both the kit and your camera in to Kolari Vision. You’ll receive an email once your Mod Kit has been posted to you.

Mod your own camera
by following the install guide
If you're already experienced in handling circuitry or camera parts, the Mod Kit is for you. While the Mod process is lengthy at around 1 hour, with some patience, the mod process is achievable with enough care. Just know that you'll be missing out on the warranty coverage offered by Kolari Vision.
To Mod your own camera, you must follow the full installation instruction video, which will be available when the Mod Kits begin shipping late February.
